From the artist....

You have stumbled across the home page of yet another person who loves making art. Welcome to “CarolynSkei.com” and to my first on-line sharing of my art work.
Processes like collaging, fabric dyeing/painting, quilting, bookbinding, and photography have interested me for many years. Those interests grew from childhood, when I worked with crayons, paints, scissors, needle, thread and cloth alongside my mom and grandmother — and solved puzzles with my dad, who seemed to know how to build just about anything.
Busy hands and creative projects were a way of life in our family, and now, at three-quarters of a century, I still consider them necessities as well as joys. No home is complete without them!
I hope you'll enjoy my galleries. You'll find some of my favorite small art quilts, handmade books, mixed-media pieces, art cloth projects, and photographs. Much of the work involves experimental processes — improvisation with fabric, ribbons, threads, paints, dyes, and digital imagery. There is no “unified body of work” here. (Perish the thought!) But there is great love for the creative process — and a genuine excitement in knowing other folks who draw sustenance from art, so don't hesitate to contact me!
